Weekend weather warnings

Two yellow weather warnings for wind have been issued by the Met Office for the weekend.

  • The warnings run back to back, covering a period from 7am on Saturday to 9pm on Sunday 
  • The whole of the Scottish Borders is covered by both warning areas
  • 50-60mph gusts likely widely, with up to 70mph possible on the coast and over higher ground
  • Large waves expected along the coast
  • Squally showers, hail and thunder possible throughout Sunday
  • Risk of travel disruption
  • Be prepared for high winds
